Blog Post 2 - Second day of Film

In week 2, our second filming day was mainly devoted to adjusting camera angles and positioning. We covered a variety of camera angles in order to convey the interesting nature of the alien and the importance of the film opening.  Since I'll be the alien during the filming process, I'll be having an alien mask to on to fit the vibe and angle.  Despite this, the low angle shot behind the head shows how important the alien is to this storyline. Since this is a sci-fi scene, it is evident in the science that is involved. 

Blog Post 1 - Beginning of Film

  The crew started filming this week by trying to find the perfect location for sunlight and exposure. In the picture above, you can see that our photographer (Reid) was above the courtyard. We were deciding what sort of scenarios and motions would be more imposing for our alien (Me) to be at and how we could make the scene better with good angles.  We also did look at a variety of pictures in the courtyard, such as this one. Our group will most likely decide to film at this location first, as the abandoned effect can be seen due to the lack of people and modern items. The main theme of the abandoned theme can also be seen through the greenery as there isn't a vast amount of it which is good. 

Film Preparation

Actors:           Reid: Cinematographer          Josh: Human boy          Khang: Alien Costumes:      We just need to find an alien costumes and have some normal school clothing. Props: Props we will need is some type of books that would block the hallway, so that it would cause our main character to trip in the hallway. Other props include just the lockers and possible trash can that could be used to show that the school is abandoned, Locations:      We will need to utilize the courtyard as well as one or two hallways that will prove to be an obstacle for our main human.  Dates and times:       We can do this during anytime of the day because of the school hours. However, we can add special effects and older film cameras to make this more rustic. Scripts:      Our film opener does not have any lines in it except the person screaming ...
